My WalkScore - the Walkability of where I live: 48

My WalkScore: 48 out of 100. I’m Car-Dependent.

I was browsing through some of my RSS feeds and stumbled on a post about WalkScore.com. I remember hearing about this a year ago up in San Francisco while I was up there for a convention.  So with this random place posting about WalkScore.com, I figured I’d check it out. Well, it seems that where I live isn’t so walkable after all. Only a 48 out of 100. My old house, however, is a 65 out of 100 and so is the place where I work. But I find that a little hard to believe. WalkScore.com, do you really expect me to walk 4.65 miles to a starbucks for a out priced cup of joe!?  Naw, didn’t think so. Regardless, it was still a fun little experiment.

So, whats your walkscore???

Them: ugg, only a 48.. Lates….
Okay, maybe thats pushing it a little.

Ice Hockey - Still lovin’ it!

So I’ve been playing Ice Hockey for a few months now, and still loving every minute of it.  Its been a lot of work, but the fundimentals are starting to click and make sense; ice positioning - where to be at what times, skating - getting where I need to be in an efficient way, and just an overall understanding of whats going on. Its a great feeling. I’ve actually had some offers to join a team which totally makes me happy!  Right now I’m still going to the Hockey Clinic’s on Tuesday nights, at Ice Town - Riverside.  But soon I will be part of a team.

I got to the ice rink a little early this Tuesday, so I took my camrea in a snapped a few shots. Ricky took a few of me getting my gear in the car too…

1. The Big Picture - Truely amazing set of photos with each post. I just found this one recently and have loved it from the start. Its kind of a play on “This week in photos” from MSN.
2. PastelPoetry.com - Well, Ricky is an amazing writer and every time he writes, I’m always captured by his imagination with his expressions. I just wish he would write more.
3. DigitalMusings - Christopher Chan takes amazing photos and he shows off some of his work in this blog.
4. ModBlog - Well, what can I say?  I don’t have any body mods myself, but I still like to see what people are up to these days in that relm of the world. (not always SFW)
5. Belly Off: The Trainer - I’m going through a change in my life. Im eating better, working out more, and this feed helps me keep going.
6. Get Rich Slowly - Being financially fit is just as important to me as being physically fit.  With JD’s help, his blog keeps things in check and the goal in plain sight.
7. AutoBlog - I love cars, all cars… Need I say more?
8. LifeHacker - I dont know where they find all the stuff they post about, but I have found some great tools and tips from this site.  Yeah, a lot of it is reposts from other sites and blogs. But if you just weed through those you can find some real gems.
9. TechCrunch - The latest on stuff… tech stuff…. I guess.
10. Engadget - Same as TechCrunch, pretty much.
